| Stop More Fences and Railings, Stop the Clutter. On a recent Singapore visit we asked Government planners about the absence of fences along waterfronts and around parks. The simple answer was ‘personal responsibility’. That is not the answer you get in Hong Kong. In response to ONE SINGLE complaint the Transport Department is now about to put railings along the Old Peak Road walking trail. This trail (below) was built in the 1920s and is used by residents and tourists who enjoy escaping the ‘concrete jungle’ with a walk between mid-levels and the Peak.  The Government has confirmed that no accidents have been reported in the last three (3) years. The Lung Fu Shan Environmental Concern Group could not locate a single accident report going back 80 years. Despite a recent opinion poll which shows that 95% of trail users interviewed don't want fences along Old Peak Road, the Transport Department has refused to cancel the project.  Do you agree with the Lung Fu Shan Environmental Concern Group that these fences are unnecessary? That we need to stop the clutter madness? At last, I found someone who shares the same view as I have been trying to put across. I read the Headline today within headline "過度管理的空間". I cannot agree more with what you said in the article. Just like a spoilt child, HK general public has been spoilt by the poor leadership in government and nonsense political parties in the SAR in the last 10 years of self governance.
I will keep note of your group and see what we could do to help to promote the quality of HK people.
