	Join Green Sense ‘Walk for Better Town Planning' 14 December, 2008 (Sunday) 3 p.m. (please arrive 15min earlier) Start in Chater Garden and walk to the Central Government Office, CGO Dress in black to express your grievances with town planning Green Sense is mobilizing concerned residents and community organizations to a walk on 14 December, 2008 (Sunday) against Hong Kong’s corrupt town planning process and institutions. Green Sense (www.greensense.org.hk) has long been concerned about town planning in Hong Kong and strongly objects to walled buildings. They particularly regret that the Government only agreed to a minor reduction of the scale of building development projects above Nam Cheong and Yuen Long Stations of West Rail, and that the Government decided to sell public land which allows Hopewell to build a MegaTower (a.k.a. Hopewell Centre II). Throughout Hong Kong residents are worried about the adverse effect of large walled buildings on their living environment: (1) Nam Cheong Station, West Rail (MTR) (2) Yuen Long Station, West Rail (MTR) (3) Hopewell Centre II (Mega Tower) (4) Henderson Group project at King Wah Road, North Point (5) Swire project at West Mid-levels (6) Tsuen Wan West Station, West Rail (MTR) (7) China Motor Bus depot, Chai Wan (8) Extension of Lai Chak College (9) Extension of New World Centre (10) Ocean Centre re-development project (11) Repulse Bay Beach Redevelopment (12) Destruction of Graham Street Market (H18) (13) Destruction of Staunton Street (H19) and many others.
